Aterno 45cm Polished Steel Sphere & Base Water Feature

The compact Aterno sphere with a matching polished steel base — designed for patios and gardens where you would rather not excavate a reservoir.

The Aterno 45cm Polished Steel Sphere & Base combines our compact mirrored stainless-steel sphere with a matching above-ground reservoir surround, creating a complete freestanding water feature with a clean, contemporary profile.

Made from grade 304 stainless steel, the sphere reflects planting, paving, buildings and sky as water flows across its curved surface. The polished wrap around the base continues the same finish below, giving the feature a more considered appearance than a visible plastic reservoir.

Because the reservoir remains above ground, there is no hole to dig. Position the feature on a suitable level surface, fill the reservoir and connect the pump. Water continuously recirculates within the feature, so no permanent water supply is required.

WHY CHOOSE THE STEEL-BASE VERSION?

A simpler way to add an Aterno sphere to a patio.

The raised base changes how the feature is installed, rather than simply changing its appearance. It is particularly useful where digging is inconvenient or where you want to keep the complete installation above ground.

No reservoir to bury

The water reservoir sits inside the raised base, avoiding the need to cut into a patio, paving or garden surface.

02   MATCHING FINISH

Polished steel from top to bottom

The reservoir is concealed by a stainless-steel surround designed to complement the highly polished finish of the sphere above.

03   SELF-CONTAINED

Water continuously recirculates

Simply keep the reservoir topped up. The supplied pump returns the water to the top of the sphere to repeat the cycle.

The steel-base Aterno is especially useful on patios, terraces and other finished areas where excavating a buried reservoir is undesirable. The raised installation also increases the overall height to 67cm, giving the compact 45cm sphere additional presence.

Prefer the sphere at ground level?

The standard 45cm Aterno uses a reservoir installed below ground, allowing decorative pebbles to disguise the reservoir and creating a lower, more integrated appearance.

Would a larger sphere suit the space better?

The 45cm is the most compact polished steel sphere-and-base option. For larger patios, more substantial planting or longer viewing distances, moving up to the 56cm, 75cm or 100cm Aterno creates progressively greater presence.

OUR SIZING TIP

The steel base gives every sphere additional height, so consider both the sphere diameter and the overall scale of the completed feature. The 45cm is deliberately compact; if the feature will sit against substantial planting or be viewed across a larger garden, the 56cm or 75cm will usually have considerably more visual impact.

Delivered kerbside by a specialist pallet courier, with tracking provided after dispatch. Larger items may arrive in a protective wooden crate, which will require a suitable pry bar or similar tool to open.
