Solar Aterno 45cm Polished Steel Sphere & Base Water Feature

A compact mirrored sphere with a matching polished base and powerful battery-backed solar system — no mains cable and no reservoir to bury.

The Solar Aterno 45cm Polished Steel Sphere & Base Water Feature combines the most compact Aterno sphere with two particularly useful features: solar power and a completely above-ground reservoir.

Made from grade 304 stainless steel, the 45cm polished sphere reflects planting, paving and sky while water flows continuously across its curved surface. The heavy-duty reservoir is concealed inside a matching polished stainless-steel surround, creating a clean freestanding feature without needing to excavate a hole.

Power comes from the supplied 800LPH battery-backed solar pump system, removing the need to run a permanent mains electrical cable to the feature. This makes it especially useful on patios, courtyards and garden areas where both digging and electrical cabling would be inconvenient.

ABOVE-GROUND ATERNO

Place it on the patio without burying a pebble pool.

The steel surround turns the reservoir into part of the feature. Rather than excavating a hole and concealing the reservoir beneath ground level, the complete system can sit above ground on a suitable firm and level surface.

This Aterno is supplied with the 800LPH brushless solar pump kit, complete with an 8W solar panel, rechargeable battery control system and separate six-LED uplight. It provides considerably more flexibility than a basic direct-solar pump that simply stops whenever sunlight drops.

01   BATTERY BACKUP

Stores solar energy

A fully charged battery can provide up to approximately four hours of operation without sunlight, depending on flow, lighting use and battery condition.

02   TIMER MODE

More control over operation

Use the timer function when you want greater control over when the water feature operates rather than relying entirely on immediate sunlight.

03   VARIABLE FLOW

Adjust the water effect

Change the pump output to fine-tune the flow over the polished sphere and reduce power consumption when maximum output is unnecessary.

04   LED LIGHTING

Separate six-LED uplight

The separate light can be positioned at the base of the feature to illuminate the flowing water and reflective steel after dark.

VIEW THE 800LPH SOLAR PUMP SYSTEM

FLEXIBLE POSITIONING

The sphere doesn't need to sit in full sun.

Place the water feature where it works best visually, then position the separate solar panel nearby where it can receive stronger direct sunlight.
Choose the Feature Position The sphere and base can be positioned around your patio or garden design rather than directly around a mains socket.
Position the Solar Panel Place the panel in an open position with good direct sunlight and minimise prolonged shade from trees or buildings.
4.5m Pump Cable The pump connects to the battery control unit with approximately 4.5m of cable.
2m Panel Cable The solar panel connects separately to the control unit, allowing its position to be optimised for sunlight.
5m LED Cable The separate six-LED uplight has approximately 5m of cable from the control unit.
Weather & Seasons Solar performance naturally varies with available sunlight, season, cloud cover, panel orientation and battery charge.

Choose the standard solar 45cm Aterno.

The standard solar version uses the same polished 45cm sphere and 800LPH battery-backed solar system, but places the reservoir below ground so decorative pebbles can meet the sphere directly.

Choose the size to suit the setting.

The 45cm is the compact patio-friendly option. The 56cm adds more presence for typical gardens, while the 75cm becomes a much stronger statement for larger landscaped spaces.

OUR SIZING TIP

The 45cm solar sphere and base is particularly well suited to patios and smaller spaces because the reservoir is already incorporated into the feature. If the installation will be viewed from further away or positioned amongst substantial planting, moving up to the 56cm or 75cm version will create greater visual presence.

Delivered kerbside by a specialist pallet courier, with tracking provided after dispatch. Larger items may arrive in a protective wooden crate, which will require a suitable pry bar or similar tool to open.
