The Aterno 400cm Polished Steel Sphere Water Feature represents the largest scale within our standard architectural Aterno sphere collection. At a full 4 metres in diameter, this is not simply a large fountain — it is a defining landscape feature capable of becoming part of the visual identity of a site.

The highly polished stainless-steel surface reflects surrounding architecture, planting, people and sky across an immense curved area. As water moves continuously across the sphere, those reflections shift and distort, creating a dynamic effect that can be appreciated from both close range and considerable distances.

Delivery is individually planned and quoted.

At 400cm diameter, the Aterno cannot travel using a conventional pallet network. We therefore plan specialist transport around the delivery location, site access and route requirements, with delivery charges provided by quotation.

DISCUSS DELIVERY & ACCESS

Specialist Transport A suitable vehicle and transport method are selected around the individual project.

Route Planning Vehicle dimensions, road access and the route to site can be reviewed before delivery is confirmed.

Site Access Entrance width, turning space, unloading position and movement to the final location can be considered in advance.

Additional Arrangements Where a particular route requires them, specialist escort or traffic-management arrangements can be incorporated into the delivery plan.

Every project is different. Additional measures such as escorted transport, timed access or temporary traffic management are only considered where the route or site requires them. Our aim is simply to identify the practical requirements early and create an appropriate delivery plan around the project.

PROJECT-LED INSTALLATION

Plan the landscape, access and sphere together.

At four metres diameter, successful installation starts well before delivery. Foundations, reservoir design, access and lifting can all be considered as part of the wider landscape project.

Reservoir & Water System The water system can be designed around the required flow, finished appearance and individual site conditions.

Pond Installation The sphere can also be incorporated into a suitably engineered pond or purpose-designed architectural water body.

Foundations Structural groundwork and the installation base should be designed and completed before the sphere arrives wherever practical.

Delivery Route The route from the public highway through to the unloading and installation position should be considered during project planning.

Lifting & Positioning Suitable specialist lifting equipment and adequate operating space should be planned around the final position.

Architectural Lighting Carefully positioned external lighting can transform the polished sphere after dark and reinforce its landmark role within the landscape.

The 3m is suited to substantially larger buildings and landscapes, while the 4m should be considered where the intention is to create a genuine landmark. For a project at this scale, we recommend assessing elevations, sight lines, approach routes and the surrounding architecture before confirming the final sphere size.
