AQUA MODA ALLIA   /   ONE-OFF NATURAL STONE

Plum Monolith Water Feature 83cm No. 163

A striking one-off plum monolith with contrasting natural grey inclusions and a distinctive crystalline, flame-like silhouette.

The photographs show the exact No. 163 stone you will receive. Its shape, colouring, markings and proportions are unique to this individual piece of natural stone.

Measuring approximately 83cm high × 23cm wide × 45cm deep, No. 163 has an unusual proportion: relatively narrow from the front but considerably deeper through the stone, giving it a substantial three-dimensional presence.

Water rises through the pre-drilled monolith before flowing over its naturally textured surface. As it becomes wet, the rich plum colouring deepens and saturates while the contrasting grey inclusions become increasingly prominent.

The monolith shown is the exact monolith you receive.

No. 163 is not one example selected from a batch. Its flame-like profile, plum colouring, contrasting grey inclusions and natural surface markings belong to this individual stone.

WHY NO. 163?

A particularly sculptural monolith with unusual colour and form.

The combination of deep plum stone, contrasting grey inclusions and a crystalline rising profile gives No. 163 a character quite different from more conventional grey or blue-grey monoliths.

01   PLUM COLOURING

Rich and distinctive

The strong plum colouring gives the stone immediate identity and becomes noticeably deeper and richer once wet.

02   GREY INCLUSIONS

Natural contrast

Grey slate running through the plum stone creates natural contrast rather than one completely uniform block of colour.

03   SCULPTURAL FORM

Crystalline and flame-like

Its irregular rising shape gives No. 163 a dynamic silhouette even before the water feature is switched on.

SEE YOUR STONE BEFORE YOU BUY

Visit our Manchester showroom by appointment or arrange a complimentary virtual consultation. We can show you the actual monolith from different angles and help you judge its proportions, colouring and suitability for your proposed location.

NATURAL CHARACTER

A stone with different personalities from different angles.

With a width of approximately 23cm but a depth of around 45cm, No. 163 changes noticeably as you move around it, making orientation particularly important when planning the installation.

FORM

Flame-like silhouette

Irregular upward peaks give the monolith movement and prevent it from appearing like a simple rectangular slab of stone.

COLOUR

Plum with natural grey

Rich plum colouring is interrupted by contrasting grey inclusions that add depth and individuality.

PROPORTION

Narrow face, substantial depth

The 23 × 45cm footprint creates noticeably different views from the front, side and three-quarter angles.

WATER TRANSFORMS THE COLOUR

Plum becomes deeper, darker and more intense.

Water rises through the pre-drilled No. 163 monolith before flowing across its natural stone surface. The wet stone takes on a considerably richer appearance, deepening the plum tones and increasing the visual contrast with the grey inclusions. Because the surface is naturally irregular, the water finds different paths down the individual faces of the stone.

Top-fed water flow Water rises internally through the pre-drilled monolith.
Natural cascade Water follows the individual contours and textures of No. 163.
Richer plum tones The natural colour becomes noticeably darker and more saturated when wet.
Grey contrast Natural grey inclusions become increasingly defined against the wet plum stone.

A THREE-DIMENSIONAL MONOLITH

Orientation matters with No. 163.

23cm wide. 45cm deep.

Unlike a relatively flat slab, No. 163 has considerable depth compared with its width. Rotating the stone can therefore materially change its appearance. Before installation, consider the main viewpoints from the house, terrace and garden so the most attractive natural face and silhouette are presented towards the areas from which it will most often be seen.

UNDERSTANDING THE SCALE

83cm of sculptural natural stone.

No. 163 has enough height to become a clear garden focal point while remaining below the scale of the largest Allia monoliths and hololiths.
83cm Overall natural stone height / approximately 2ft 8.7in.
23cm Approximate stone width.
45cm Approximate stone depth.
90cm × 30cm Diameter × depth of supplied underground pebble pool.

POSITIONING NO. 163

Let its unusual shape and colour do the work.

No. 163 has enough natural variation that it does not need an elaborate surrounding scheme. Giving the stone some visual space allows its plum colouring and sculptural outline to remain the focus.

Planted borders

Use the rich plum stone against green foliage to create a strong natural colour contrast.

Gravel gardens

A restrained gravel or decorative stone finish can keep the attention firmly on No. 163's unusual colouring and form.

Key sight lines

Position the preferred face towards the house, terrace or main garden view to take advantage of the stone's asymmetric shape.

CONCEALED IN-GROUND SYSTEM

Hide the water system beneath the landscape.

The supplied 90cm diameter pebble pool and galvanised steel grid sit below the finished surface, leaving the natural plum monolith as the visible focal point.
01 Choose the position Decide which natural face and flame-like silhouette should be presented towards the primary viewing area.
02 Prepare the reservoir area Excavate a suitable location for the supplied 90cm diameter × 30cm deep underground reservoir.
03 Install securely and level Position the reservoir on a firm, level and suitably prepared base so the completed feature remains stable.
04 Install pump & pipework Position the supplied water pump inside the reservoir and connect the required pipework to the pre-drilled monolith.
05 Fit the galvanised grid Position the supplied galvanised steel support grid securely over the underground reservoir.
06 Position No. 163 Carefully position the monolith over the supported section and confirm the preferred orientation before final finishing.
07 Finish the surface Conceal the visible grid with decorative pebbles while retaining suitable access to the pump for maintenance.
08 Fill & enjoy Fill the reservoir and start the pump. Water rises through the stone and returns continuously to the concealed reservoir.

PLUM STONE TRANSFORMED BY WATER

The change in colour is an important part of No. 163's appeal.

When dry

Plum colouring appears softer, with contrasting grey areas and natural markings visible across the sculptural stone surface.

When wet

The plum becomes deeper, darker and more saturated, increasing the contrast with the natural grey inclusions and bringing additional depth to the stone.

BUYING A ONE-OFF ALLIA
