Monara Slate 70cm Cascading Sphere Water Feature

A substantial 70cm natural slate sphere with the scale, texture and cascading water movement to create a genuine garden centrepiece.

Exclusive to Aqua Moda, the Monara 70cm Cascading Slate Sphere is the largest individual sphere in the core cascading Monara collection, combining a strong architectural form with the irregular character of natural layered stone.

Water emerges from the top before flowing across the deeply textured slate surface. Hundreds of projecting edges continually divide and redirect the water, while the natural grey stone becomes darker and more dramatic as it gets wet.

At approximately 125kg, the 70cm Monara has considerable physical and visual presence and is particularly well suited to larger borders, patios and professionally landscaped gardens. It is supplied as a complete mains-powered water feature kit with reservoir, pump and LED illumination.

The 70cm model increases both the physical mass and visible surface area of the sphere, making it the natural choice where the water feature needs to hold its own within a larger garden or more substantial landscaping.

THE MONARA WATER EFFECT

A larger surface creates a more expansive cascade.

Water rises through the centre and emerges at the top before travelling across the full 70cm sphere. The natural slate construction breaks the flow across countless irregular edges, creating constantly changing rivulets rather than one uniform sheet of water.

Water from the top The water effect begins at the upper centre and spreads naturally across all sides of the sphere.
Deep layered texture Individual pieces of slate interrupt and redirect the water as it travels down the larger stone surface.
Dramatic wet-stone colour The natural grey slate becomes significantly deeper in tone when wet, emphasising the individual layers and water paths.

NATURAL SLATE

Individual stone makes every Monara subtly different.

The sphere is built from layers of natural slate rather than a perfectly uniform manufactured shell. Colour, texture, markings and individual stone edges will therefore vary, creating the natural irregularity that gives the cascading Monara its character.

NATURAL MATERIAL

Variations in colour, stone thickness, markings and layered edges are expected. No two natural slate Monara spheres will be completely identical.

IN-GROUND INSTALLATION

Conceal the larger reservoir beneath the landscape.

The supplied 90cm heavy-duty reservoir is buried below ground, allowing the 70cm slate sphere and decorative pebble area to become the visible focal point.
01 Choose the position Select a firm, level location with suitable access for the mains-powered pump and enough surrounding space for the 70cm sphere.
02 Install the reservoir Excavate a suitable hole for the supplied 90cm heavy-duty pebble pool and position it securely below ground.
03 Fit the pump Position the pump inside the reservoir and connect the water hose and LED light to the pre-drilled sphere.
04 Position the sphere Carefully place the approximately 125kg Monara onto the support system and make sure it is stable and completely level.
05 Finish the landscape Cover the visible reservoir area with decorative pebbles while retaining appropriate access for future maintenance.
06 Fill & enjoy Fill the reservoir and switch on the pump to begin continuous circulation across the natural slate surface.
OPTIONAL PATIO INSTALLATION

Prefer not to excavate for the 90cm reservoir?

Add the optional 90cm Corten steel reservoir wrap to conceal the supplied pebble pool above ground. This creates a larger mixed-material Monara installation, combining the dark natural slate sphere with a warm weathering-steel base while avoiding excavation of an existing patio or finished surface.
