A distinctive 64cm plum-coloured natural stone monolith with a pinnacled profile and a contrasting green-grey band running across the stone — photographed individually so you can choose the exact piece you will receive.

Allia No. 171 stands apart from the more familiar blue-grey slate monoliths through its rich plum colouring and contrasting green-grey band. The natural variation runs visibly through the stone, giving this particular piece a character that cannot be reproduced by a manufactured feature.

No. 171 measures approximately 64cm high × 38cm wide × 17cm deep. Its broad face gives the unusual colour variation plenty of room to be seen, while the upper profile rises naturally towards a pinnacle that creates a stronger vertical outline.

When wet, the natural colours become darker and more saturated, increasing the contrast between the plum stone and the distinctive band running across it.

Water makes the colour difference even stronger.

One of the most appealing characteristics of No. 171 is the way its natural colouring changes when wet. As water moves across the stone, the plum tones deepen and the contrasting green-grey band becomes richer and more defined.

Greater colour saturation The plum stone becomes deeper and richer in appearance once the water is running.

Contrasting band The green-grey detail remains visibly different from the surrounding plum stone and becomes increasingly prominent when wet.

Natural variation The flowing water responds to the real surface and contours of the individual monolith rather than a repeated manufactured texture.

03 RESERVOIR Prepare the pebble pool

The supplied 66cm diameter × 30cm deep reservoir sits below the finished surface to create the concealed recirculating water system.
