AQUA MODA ALLIA   /   ONE-OFF NATURAL STONE

Copper Grey Block Monolith Water Feature 94cm No. 166

A substantial one-off natural slate monolith combining deep grey stone, warm copper colouring and a strong architectural block form.

The photographs show the exact No. 166 stone you will receive. Its shape, natural colouring, geological markings and proportions belong to this individual piece of stone.

Measuring approximately 94cm high × 39cm wide × 22cm deep, No. 166 has a robust upright silhouette with enough width to feel substantial without becoming overly bulky.

Water emerges from the centre of the upper surface before flowing across the detailed top and down the sides. As the slate becomes wet, deep greys darken while naturally occurring copper tones become richer and more prominent.

The stone shown is the exact stone you receive.

No. 166 is an individual piece of natural stone rather than one example selected from stock. Its precise block-like form, copper colouring, grey slate and geological markings are exactly what you are choosing.

WHY NO. 166?

A more architectural natural monolith with exceptional geological colour.

No. 166 is defined less by an irregular silhouette and more by the relationship between its substantial block form and the copper-grey detail running across the natural stone.

01   COPPER + GREY

Naturally contrasting colour

Deep grey slate is interrupted by warmer copper tones, revealing more of the stone's individual geological character.

02   BLOCK FORM

Strong architectural presence

The substantial upright shape gives No. 166 a more solid, architectural appearance than a narrow or highly irregular monolith.

03   ACTUAL STONE

Exactly as photographed

The feature shown in the product images is No. 166 itself, allowing you to choose its exact colour and natural markings.

NATURAL CHARACTER

Geological detail across a strong, uncomplicated form.

The relatively simple overall silhouette places greater emphasis on the natural colour, surface detail and geological markings running through No. 166.

FORM

Substantial block profile

The robust upright body gives the stone visual weight and makes it particularly effective within contemporary landscapes.

COLOUR

Deep grey slate

Dark natural grey provides the underlying colour and becomes noticeably deeper once water moves across the stone.

GEOLOGY

Warm copper inclusions

Copper-toned areas interrupt the grey and reveal the changing mineral character within this individual natural stone.

WATER REVEALS THE DETAIL

From the centre of the top surface to a long natural cascade.

Water emerges through the pre-drilled centre of the upper stone surface before travelling outwards and cascading down the sides of No. 166. The wet stone becomes considerably darker and more saturated, strengthening the contrast between the deep grey slate and warmer copper-coloured areas. Natural texture prevents the flow from appearing completely uniform, allowing the water to follow individual channels across the stone.

Central top outlet Water emerges from the centre of the upper stone surface.
Flow across the top Water initially spreads across the detailed natural upper face.
Side cascade The flow then moves down the substantial vertical faces of the monolith.
Richer wet colour Grey darkens while copper tones become stronger and more visible.

BLOCK MONOLITH PROPORTIONS

Solid, upright and deliberately substantial.

94cm high × 39cm wide × 22cm deep

No. 166 has a broad enough face to display its natural copper and grey markings clearly while retaining a distinctly vertical proportion. Its block-like outline also creates cleaner visual lines than many highly irregular natural monoliths, making it particularly suited to more architectural garden schemes.

UNDERSTANDING THE SCALE

Almost a metre of solid natural stone.

At approximately 94cm high, No. 166 has enough scale to form a substantial garden focal point without entering the proportions of the tallest 1.2m+ Allia pieces.
94cm Overall natural stone height / approximately 3ft 1in.
39cm Approximate stone width.
22cm Approximate stone depth.
90cm × 30cm Diameter × depth of supplied underground pebble pool.

POSITIONING NO. 166

A natural stone feature that works particularly well with architectural landscaping.

The relatively strong block form makes No. 166 easy to combine with clean paving lines and contemporary planting while its copper-grey colouring prevents it from feeling manufactured.

Contemporary borders

Position amongst grasses or restrained structural planting where the upright stone can provide a contrasting solid form.

Garden sight lines

At 94cm high, the monolith works well as a destination viewed from a terrace, doorway or along a garden path.

Gravel & stone landscapes

A simple surrounding surface allows the natural copper-grey geology to remain the main visual detail.

PERMANENT IN-GROUND INSTALLATION

Support the stone from the foundation below.

For a substantial natural monolith, the underground reservoir should be installed onto a firm, level concrete foundation. Suitable brick supports can then be positioned inside the reservoir beneath the stone and built up to the underside of the galvanised steel grid. This transfers the stone's load through the supports towards the foundation below rather than relying solely on the reservoir grid.

INSTALLATION DETAIL

Everything structural disappears beneath the finished surface.

Once installed, the reservoir, structural supports, pump and grid are hidden beneath decorative pebbles, leaving No. 166 as the visible focal point.
01 Choose the position Decide which copper-grey face should be directed towards the main viewing position before beginning excavation.
02 Excavate Prepare a suitable opening for the 90cm reservoir, allowing additional depth for the structural base beneath it.
03 Create the concrete base Form a firm, level foundation beneath the reservoir and allow it to cure before continuing with the installation.
04 Position the reservoir Install the 90cm pebble pool securely and level on the prepared base.
05 Add internal supports Build suitable brick supports inside the reservoir beneath the intended stone position up to the underside of the grid.
06 Install pump & pipework Position the supplied pump within the reservoir where it can remain accessible and connect the required pipework to the stone.
07 Fit the galvanised grid Position the supplied steel grid securely so it is correctly supported by the reservoir and structural supports beneath.
08 Position No. 166 Carefully lift and position the monolith over the supported section of grid with its preferred face correctly orientated.
09 Finish & fill Conceal the grid with decorative pebbles, retain pump access, fill the reservoir and start the recirculating water system.

COPPER GREY STONE TRANSFORMED BY WATER

The geological detail becomes considerably richer once wet.

When dry

The stone displays softer natural grey colouring with copper and earthy mineral details running through its surface.

When wet

The grey becomes deeper and darker while copper areas gain greater saturation, contrast and definition beneath the moving water.
