AQUA MODA ALLIA   /   INDIVIDUAL NATURAL SLATE

Allia Slate Monolith Water Feature No. 139

This is not a stock photograph or an example stone. The slate monolith shown in the photographs is the individual No. 139 stone that you will receive.

Every Aqua Moda Allia begins with a real piece of natural slate chosen for its individual shape, colour, markings and cleaved texture. Rather than asking you to select a generic size and accept whichever stone arrives, we photograph our individual pieces so you can choose the one that feels right for your garden.

No. 139 stands approximately 85cm high, 36cm wide and 17cm deep. Its naturally hewn form has strong vertical lines, a dusty blue-grey character and visible copper and iron tones that become part of the finished feature.

Once running, water travels across the natural slate surface, bringing greater depth to its colour, layers and mineral markings before returning to the concealed reservoir below.

THE ALLIA DIFFERENCE

The stone you see is the stone you get.

With natural slate, shape matters just as much as size. Edge profile, colour, layering and mineral markings can vary enormously from one monolith to another. That is why Allia is built around individual stones rather than generic product photography.

HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR ALLIA

Choose the individual stone, not simply the measurement.

Height gives you a useful starting point, but the character of a natural monolith comes from its overall proportions, face, edges, colouring and the way it sits within your garden.

01   LOOK AT THE STONE

Choose the shape you prefer

Study the actual photographs. Look at the outline, width, natural edges and surface markings rather than choosing on height alone.

02   THINK ABOUT SCALE

Picture it in your garden

Consider where you will normally view the feature from, what sits behind it and whether you want the slate to feel subtle or become a stronger focal point.

03   ASK US TO HELP

Use our personal consultation

If two or three stones appeal to you, we can help compare their proportions, character and suitability for your intended position.

PERSONAL ALLIA CONSULTATION

Not sure which individual stone to choose?

You do not need to make the decision from measurements alone. Book a personal consultation and we can talk through the available stones with you, consider photographs of your garden, discuss scale and position, and help narrow the collection to the pieces that best suit your space. Consultations are available in Manchester or virtually.

THE CHARACTER OF NO. 139

Strong vertical form with blue-grey slate tones.

No. 139 has a naturally robust upright shape with pronounced vertical character and the layered surface texture associated with genuine slate.
85cm Height A useful mid-sized monolith that creates clear vertical presence without moving into the scale of the largest Allia pieces.
36cm Wide Its relatively broad face gives the natural stone enough surface for the moving water and mineral colouring to be clearly visible.
Dusty Blue-Grey Slate The stone carries a consistent blue-grey character with naturally occurring copper and iron tones.
Natural Cleaved Texture Layering, edges and surface irregularity are inherent to the stone and are part of what makes this individual piece unique.

NATURAL STONE   /   MOVING WATER

Water reveals more of the slate.

Slate often appears richer and more defined once wet. Water travelling across the natural surface darkens the blue-grey tones and makes layers, copper colouring and mineral markings more noticeable, giving the stone a different character when the feature is running.

Natural water path Water responds to the real contours and texture of the stone rather than following a perfectly manufactured surface.
Deeper colour when wet The slate typically becomes darker and more saturated once water moves across it.
Individual every time The natural shape determines how the water finds its route across the monolith.

WHERE NO. 139 WORKS WELL

Natural enough for planting. Strong enough for contemporary landscaping.

The appeal of Allia is that genuine stone can sit comfortably in very different garden styles. The surroundings determine whether it feels architectural, geological or somewhere between the two.

AMONGST PLANTING

Let the stone emerge naturally

Grasses, ferns and softer planting can frame the slate while allowing the irregular stone form to remain the focal point.

PATIOS & COURTYARDS

Add natural texture

Use the slate to soften more structured paving, walls and contemporary garden materials.

GARDEN SIGHTLINES

Create a natural destination

Position the monolith where its outline can be read clearly against planting, a wall or a more restrained background.

PLANNING YOUR ALLIA INSTALLATION

Natural stone is substantial — a little planning makes installation straightforward.

An Allia monolith is very different from a lightweight moulded fountain. It is a genuine piece of stone, so it is worth deciding where it will live and how it will reach that position before installation day. That does not need to be complicated, and we can help you plan it.

01   FINAL POSITION Choose the location first

A firm, level area with access to a suitable power supply gives you a clear starting point for the finished feature.

02   ACCESS Think about the route in

Consider gates, steps, narrow side passages and the distance from the delivery point to the final garden position.

03   HANDLING Plan for solid natural stone

Depending on the individual stone and access, suitable assistance or lifting equipment may make positioning easier and safer.

Unsure about installation? Send us photographs of the proposed location.

We can talk through the position, access and reservoir arrangement before you order. For larger Allia stones in particular, discussing the practical details beforehand is often the easiest way to make the installation go smoothly.

COMPLETE WATER FEATURE SYSTEM

The natural stone is supplied ready to become a water feature.

No. 139 is drilled for the water connection and supplied with the main components required to create its recirculating water system.
Allia Slate Monolith No. 139 The exact 85 × 36 × 17cm natural slate stone shown in the product photographs.
90cm Pebble Pool Approximately 90cm diameter × 30cm deep reservoir for installation below the finished surface.
Galvanised Steel Grid A strong support grid forming the upper structure of the reservoir installation.
Water Pump Recirculating pump supplied as part of the water-feature system.
Required Pipework Connection pipework for carrying water from the reservoir through the drilled stone.
Decorative Finish Choose suitable decorative pebbles separately to conceal the reservoir and integrate the stone into the surrounding garden.
CHOOSING WITH CONFIDENCE

Love Allia, but not completely sure about No. 139?

That is exactly why we photograph the stones individually. Compare No. 139 with the other available pieces, or let us help narrow the choice based on the garden and scale you have in mind.
