Staffora XL 1.8m Corten Steel Water Wall

A dramatic 1.8m architectural water wall in genuine weathering steel, combining strong vertical scale with flowing water and the warm evolving character of Corten.

Exclusive to Aqua Moda, the Staffora XL 1.8m Corten Steel Water Wall creates substantial architectural presence while retaining an exceptionally slim footprint. At 180cm tall, 55cm wide and only 6cm deep, it introduces height and structure without the bulk of a conventional large fountain.

The panel is manufactured from 1mm genuine Corten weathering steel, a material designed to develop its own protective rust-coloured patina when exposed to outdoor conditions. Rich rust, orange and deep brown tones continue to mature after installation, while moving water deepens and intensifies the appearance of the surface.

The supplied heavy-duty reservoir installs below ground and can be completely concealed beneath decorative pebbles. Water travels down both broad faces before returning to the hidden reservoir, leaving the full 1.8m Corten panel as the visible focal point.

THE STAFFORA WATER EFFECT

Water cascading across two broad Corten faces.

The supplied 3500LPH pump sends water internally to the top of the Staffora, where it is distributed across the broad front and rear surfaces. Water then travels down both faces before returning to the concealed reservoir below. The narrow 6cm edges remain largely dry, maintaining the distinctive blade-like profile.

A LIVING WEATHERING-STEEL FINISH

No two Corten Staffora panels develop in exactly the same way.

Corten is designed to respond to exposure and weather. Its surface gradually develops a protective patina, creating natural variations in colour and texture that continue to mature after installation.

Warm garden tones Rust, orange and deep brown shades create a strong contrast with green planting.

Enhanced by water Cascading water makes the Corten surface appear darker, deeper and richer in colour.

POSITIONING CORTEN NEAR PALE PAVING

During the natural weathering process, Corten can release rust-coloured water or residue. Take this into account when positioning the feature close to pale, porous or easily stained paving and finished surfaces.

SEAMLESS IN-GROUND INSTALLATION

Make the reservoir disappear completely.

The 65 × 44 × 21cm heavy-duty pebble pool installs below ground. Decorative pebbles then conceal the functional reservoir, lid and plumbing, leaving the full 1.8m Corten panel to rise directly from the landscape.

01 Choose the position Select a firm, level location with access to a suitable outdoor electrical supply.

02 Excavate the reservoir Prepare a suitable opening for the 65 × 44 × 21cm heavy-duty plastic pebble pool.

03 Level the reservoir Install the reservoir securely and completely level, positioning its upper edge appropriately above surrounding soil.

04 Install pump & panel Position the supplied 3500LPH pump, connect the pipework and install the Staffora through the reservoir lid.

05 Add the uplight Position the multicolour LED at the foot of the panel to illuminate the flowing water from below.

06 Finish with pebbles Conceal the reservoir lid while retaining suitable access to the pump for future maintenance.

The XL proportions make this version particularly effective where a 1.2m panel could become visually lost amongst substantial planting or within a larger garden.

POSITIONING A 1.8M WATER WALL

Shelter becomes increasingly important at this height.

The Staffora carries water across a large vertical surface, so very exposed or windy positions can move droplets away from the panel. With Corten, the surrounding ground finish should also be considered because the natural weathering process can release rust-coloured residue.

Use natural shelter Walls, fences, planting and courtyard layouts can help reduce direct wind exposure.

Consider nearby paving Avoid sensitive pale or porous finishes where developing Corten run-off could cause unwanted staining.

Keep everything level A carefully levelled reservoir and panel help produce even water flow and reliable return to the reservoir.

WATER BY DAY / ILLUMINATED AFTER DARK

The full 1.8m Corten surface changes throughout the day.

During daylight, flowing water intensifies the colour and texture of the weathering steel. After dark, the supplied multicolour LED uplight shines upwards across the moving water, emphasising the full height of the panel and bringing additional depth to the Corten surface.

VIEW ALL STAFFORA OPTIONS

ENGINEERED & HAND-FINISHED

Natural characteristics of a large fabricated Corten feature.

Staffora is a large engineered metal water feature assembled and finished by hand. Minor weld marks, slight creases or small surface variations can occasionally occur as part of the fabrication process. These characteristics generally become considerably less noticeable once water is flowing and the steel continues to weather, and they do not affect the operation or expected lifespan of the feature.

COMPLETE THE INSTALLATION

Choose pebbles to conceal the reservoir.

Decorative pebbles are available separately, allowing the heavy-duty reservoir lid to disappear into the surrounding landscape. Darker stone, river pebbles and natural aggregates can work particularly well alongside the warmer Corten finish.
