Serio Metallo Steel C & Corten Column 1.5m Water Feature

A substantial mixed-metal water feature combining a 1.5m polished Grade 304 steel Serio C-shaped wall with a 90cm Corten Caldera column.

The Serio Metallo 1.5m is the larger interpretation of this mixed-metal composition, pairing two very different steel finishes at a scale suited to substantial gardens and prominent landscape positions.

At 150cm high, the polished Serio establishes the main architectural line. The 90cm Corten column sits 60cm lower, giving it enough scale to become a genuine secondary focal point rather than simply an accessory beside the taller wall.

Although both elements are made from steel, their appearance is deliberately contrasting. The Grade 304 Serio provides a sleek polished finish, while the Corten Caldera introduces the rawer, warmer character associated with weathered steel. Together they create a layered composition that feels more architectural than using either design on its own.

The complete installation is mains powered and fully self-contained. Water recirculates continuously through the feature, with the supplied 60cm pebble-pool reservoir concealed below the finished surface so no permanent mains water supply is required.

THE SERIO METALLO EFFECT

Two forms of moving water at different heights.

The tall C-shaped Serio supplies the main vertical water feature, while the 90cm Caldera introduces a substantial second point of movement below it. Together they create a broader, more layered feature than one standalone water wall.

Two steel finishes with deliberately opposite characters.

Metallo is defined by the contrast between its two metal surfaces. The tall Serio provides the smooth, polished side of the installation while the Caldera introduces the warmer and more textured appearance of Corten.

Corten steel The 90cm Caldera provides the rawer, warmer element of the design, helping the complete composition relate naturally to planting, gravel, stone and other garden materials.

A statement composition for larger outdoor spaces.

The larger Metallo is designed for settings where the feature needs enough scale to remain visually strong across a substantial patio, border or landscaped garden.

150cm primary height Gives the Serio enough scale to become a significant architectural focal point within the garden.
90cm secondary height The Corten column remains substantial in its own right rather than disappearing beside the taller feature.
60cm height difference Creates a clear stepped profile while keeping both elements visually connected.

POSITIONING THE COMPOSITION

Use the Serio as the main backdrop and the Corten column to create depth.

Position the 1.5m Serio as the principal vertical element, then use the 90cm Caldera slightly forward or offset according to the main viewing angle. This helps the different heights and finishes become part of one layered composition rather than simply placing two water features side by side.

IN-GROUND INSTALLATION

Keep the reservoir below the finished landscape.

The supplied 60cm pebble-pool base is installed below ground, keeping attention on the polished Serio, Corten column and your chosen decorative finish.
01 Plan the complete layout Temporarily position both pieces to establish the strongest relationship from the principal viewing angle.
02 Prepare the reservoir area Excavate the location for the supplied 60cm diameter pebble-pool base.
03 Install the pump Position the suitable mains-powered pump and connect the required water system.
04 Position the 1.5m Serio Ensure the polished C-shaped wall is secure, vertical and correctly aligned.
05 Position the 90cm Caldera Place the Corten column slightly forward or offset from the taller Serio to create visual depth.
06 Finish & commission Add decorative pebbles, fill the reservoir and establish the required water circulation.
