AQUA MODA ALLIA   /   INDIVIDUAL WELSH SLATE

Allia Grey Pinnacled Slate Monolith Water Feature No. 173

A commanding 152cm natural Welsh slate monolith with an extraordinary 82cm-wide face and naturally formed peak — photographed individually so you can choose the exact stone you will receive.

Allia No. 173 is a substantial piece of Welsh grey-to-blue slate, naturally formed into a dramatic peaked profile. At approximately five feet high and more than 80cm wide, it has the presence to become part of the architecture of the garden rather than simply an accessory within it.

No. 173 measures approximately 152cm high × 82cm wide × 23cm deep. Its broad face, naturally irregular edges and pronounced pinnacle give this individual piece a scale and silhouette that cannot be replicated by a manufactured water feature.

The stone is pre-drilled at its peak. When running, water begins at the highest point before travelling across the natural slate surfaces, deepening the subtle grey and blue tones and emphasising the geological character of the stone.

THE ACTUAL STONE

THE ALLIA DIFFERENCE

A stone of this scale should be chosen individually.

No. 173 is not a generic example of a large slate monolith. The photographs show the actual stone you will receive. Its peak, 82cm-wide face, proportions, edges and natural markings are unique to this piece, allowing you to know exactly what will become the focal point in your garden.

THE CHARACTER OF A STATEMENT ALLIA

Choose No. 173 for its presence, not simply its height.

At this scale, the outline and proportions of the individual stone become a major part of the garden design. No. 173 combines exceptional width with a pronounced natural peak, creating a particularly commanding silhouette.

01   NATURAL PEAK

A dramatic upper profile

The stone rises naturally to a pronounced pinnacle, giving it a strong vertical focus and providing the starting point for the flowing water.

02   82CM WIDE

An exceptionally broad face

Its width gives No. 173 substantial visual mass and creates a large natural slate surface for the water to travel across.

03   INDIVIDUALLY CHOSEN

Know exactly what you are buying

At nearly five feet high, choosing from photographs of the actual stone gives far more confidence than ordering from generic monolith imagery.

PERSONAL ALLIA CONSULTATION

For a stone of this scale, talk it through with us.

We can help you assess whether No. 173 is right for your garden, discuss the intended position and access, and talk through the most appropriate reservoir and installation approach. Send us photographs, arrange a virtual consultation or book a viewing with us in Manchester to see available Allia stones in person.

THE CHARACTER OF NO. 173

Tall, broad and unmistakably natural.

No. 173 has the scale to stand confidently within a substantial garden while retaining all the irregularity, texture and variation of a genuine piece of Welsh slate.
152cm High At approximately 4ft 11in, this is a genuine statement monolith designed to remain visually important within a larger landscape.
82cm Wide The exceptionally broad face gives the stone considerable presence and creates a substantial natural surface for flowing water.
23cm Deep Its depth gives the monolith a convincing three-dimensional geological form rather than the appearance of a thin decorative slab.
Natural Pinnacle The upper profile rises naturally to a striking peak, creating both the defining silhouette and the water outlet position.

PRE-DRILLED PEAK   /   NATURAL WATER MOVEMENT

Water starts at the summit and reveals the stone below.

No. 173 is pre-drilled at its natural peak. Water emerges at the top before finding its route across the broad slate surfaces, responding to the real contours and texture of the stone as it travels downwards.

Water from the peak The outlet is positioned at the highest point of the stone, naturally drawing attention to its distinctive pinnacle.
Large flowing surface The 82cm-wide stone provides an unusually substantial natural face for the movement of water.
Grey and blue tones deepen When wet, the subtle natural colouring becomes darker and more saturated, revealing additional definition within the slate.

DESIGNED FOR A STRONGER GARDEN POSITION

Give No. 173 enough space to be appreciated.

The scale of this stone makes it particularly suited to positions where it can form part of a wider landscape composition rather than being squeezed into a small corner.

GARDEN SIGHTLINES

Create a destination

Use the peaked silhouette at the end of a lawn, path or framed garden view where the full height can be appreciated.

MATURE PLANTING

Strong enough to hold its own

Its scale allows it to sit comfortably amongst larger shrubs, grasses and established planting without disappearing into the landscape.

LARGER PATIOS & COURTYARDS

A genuine architectural centrepiece

The broad stone face and natural peak create enough presence for substantial entertaining areas and contemporary landscaped spaces.

PLANNING A LARGE ALLIA INSTALLATION

The stone is substantial — the key is planning the position before it arrives.

No. 173 is a large piece of genuine natural slate, so installation deserves more thought than a smaller decorative fountain. This should not make the project complicated; it simply means considering the final position, route through the garden and water system in advance rather than making those decisions on delivery day.

01   POSITION Choose the final location

Consider where the full 152cm height and broad 82cm face can be seen properly and become part of the wider garden design.

02   ACCESS Plan the route to position

Check gateways, paths, steps and the route between the delivery point and the final location so the appropriate handling approach can be planned.

03   WATER SYSTEM Plan the reservoir to suit

Because No. 173 is substantially larger than the smaller Allia monoliths, its reservoir and support arrangement should be selected around the stone and intended installation.

We recommend discussing No. 173 with us before installation.

Send photographs of the proposed position and access or book a personal consultation. We can help you think through the practical details before the feature arrives, making the final installation much easier to organise.

IMPORTANT DIFFERENCE

No standard pebble pool is included with No. 173.

The smaller Allia stones can be paired with a standard pebble-pool system. No. 173 is a very different scale, so we do not supply it with a generic reservoir that may not suit the final installation.

Why no standard pool? At 152cm high and 82cm wide, No. 173 is a substantial individual stone. The reservoir and support arrangement should reflect the actual installation rather than simply using the same system as a much smaller monolith.
What is supplied? The monolith is supplied pre-drilled with its water pump and required pipework, ready to form the centrepiece of the finished water system.
What needs planning? The final reservoir, stone support and surrounding finish should be considered together according to the chosen garden position.
Need help? Talk to us before ordering or installation and we can help you consider the most suitable approach for your proposed setting.

CHOOSING WITH CONFIDENCE

For a stone this significant, seeing the actual piece matters.

No. 173 will become a permanent visual feature within the garden. Its 82cm width, natural peak and individual slate colouring cannot be represented accurately by a generic product photograph, which is why we show the actual stone available to buy.
