Miren XXL Babbling Basalt Fountain — Stone Only
A spectacular XXL natural basalt fountain stone designed for customers creating their own bespoke water feature installation. At approximately 110cm across, this is the largest of our Miren babbling basalt slabs and creates a genuine statement within larger gardens, courtyards and professionally landscaped spaces.
Each piece is hand-finished from solid volcanic basalt with a smooth, gently dished polished top and rugged natural outer edges. Once connected to a suitable pump system, water bubbles from the centre, spreads across the broad polished surface and cascades naturally over the irregular stone perimeter.
As the basalt becomes wet, its charcoal, black and subtle brown tones deepen considerably, creating a dramatic contrast between the polished upper surface and raw natural edges.
IMPORTANT — STONE ONLY: This product includes the XXL drilled basalt fountain stone only. A reservoir, support grid, pump, pipework, lighting and decorative pebbles are not included and must be supplied separately.

An XXL Natural Stone Statement
At approximately 110cm across, the XXL Miren has considerably more presence than a conventional garden fountain.
Its broad, low profile creates a large surface of moving water while allowing the natural stone to remain visually integrated into the surrounding landscape.
It is particularly effective within substantial pebble areas, contemporary courtyards, large planted borders and professionally designed gardens where a smaller fountain could become visually lost.
Natural Basalt Comes Alive with Water
Basalt is a dense volcanic stone with naturally occurring differences in shape, colour and surface markings.
The broad upper surface is polished and gently dished, allowing water to form a shallow moving pool before reaching the natural outer edges.
When dry, the stone displays softer charcoal and grey tones. Once wet, the basalt becomes considerably darker and richer, revealing additional markings and warm tones within the natural stone.
A Wide Cascading Water Effect
The exceptional width of the XXL Miren creates a very different water effect from the smaller babbling basalt fountains.
Water spreads across a surface approaching 1.1 metres wide before reaching the irregular perimeter, producing multiple natural cascades around the stone.
The exact flow pattern will differ from one piece to another because every basalt slab has its own unique shape and edge profile.
Allow for the Full 110cm Water Spread
The XXL basalt stone can be wider than many standard underground reservoirs. Your installation therefore needs to capture water falling from the entire perimeter of the stone rather than only directly beneath its centre.
If your reservoir or grid is smaller than the basalt slab, extend the catchment area around it using suitable pond liner so that cascading water is directed safely back into the reservoir rather than being lost into the surrounding ground.
This is particularly important with an XXL stone where water can travel beyond the edge of a conventional pebble pool.
