Caldera Two Tone Granite 95cm Column Water Feature

A tall solid granite column combining two contrasting finishes to create two distinct water effects within one architectural feature.

Standing approximately 95cm high and 22cm wide, this Caldera has the presence of a substantial natural stone feature while retaining the slim proportions of the wider column collection.

The smoother grey upper section allows water to glide cleanly over the granite before it reaches the darker chiselled lower section, where the textured surface breaks the flow into smaller ripples and channels.

The result is a water feature that changes visually from top to bottom, combining the refinement of smooth granite with the more rugged character of chiselled stone.

Water travels smoothly across the upper section before the chiselled texture breaks it into more varied movement below.

One flow, two behaviours

The water becomes increasingly textured as it travels down the granite.

Water is pumped internally to the top of the column and begins by flowing across the smoother grey granite.

This upper surface encourages a cleaner sheet of water with softer reflections and a more refined appearance.

As the flow reaches the darker chiselled section, the irregular stone texture begins to interrupt it, creating smaller streams, ripples and a more broken surface effect.

Concealed return Water drops into the hidden reservoir and is continuously reused.

Two finishes within one solid stone feature

The upper section has a cleaner, more refined surface that allows water to spread and glide with relatively little interruption, creating a calmer shimmering effect.

Dark Chiselled Granite

The lower section introduces greater surface texture. Water catches against the chiselled stone and separates into smaller channels, creating more pronounced rippling and movement.

Solid natural granite

Durable stone given two very different surface treatments.

The Caldera is hand-crafted from solid natural granite, combining a grey speckled upper section with a contrasting darker chiselled finish below.

Granite's subtle natural mineral pattern prevents the smoother section from appearing flat, while the chiselled lower portion adds considerably more physical texture.

When wet, both areas become deeper in tone, making the transition between the two finishes even more pronounced.

Natural stone will vary

Mineral pattern, exact grey and darker tones, surface markings and subtle dimensions can vary between individual pieces. These differences are inherent to genuine natural granite.

A strong architectural focal point

Particularly effective where a tall feature needs more detail than a plain column.

The combination of height, contrasting stone and changing water texture makes this version particularly suitable for prominent positions within the garden.

It can provide a vertical counterpoint to low paving and planting, stand at the end of a sight line, or sit alongside contemporary steel elements where the grey granite creates a natural link between stone and metal.

Keep the reservoir below ground and the full 95cm granite column on show.

The feature is supplied with a 60cm diameter pebble pool and steel support grid, allowing the recirculating water system to be concealed beneath the finished surface.

Choose the position

Select a firm, level location with access to a suitable outdoor mains electrical supply.

Excavate

Prepare the opening required for the supplied 60cm diameter pebble pool.

Level the reservoir

Install the reservoir securely and ensure it sits level below the finished landscape surface.

Install the pump

Position the supplied mains-powered pump within the reservoir and connect the water feed to the column.

Fit the steel grid

Position the supplied steel support grid securely over the reservoir.

Position the column

Carefully centre and level the 95cm solid granite feature over the support grid.

Finish the surface

Conceal the reservoir and grid with decorative pebbles while maintaining suitable access for servicing.

Fill & enjoy

Fill the reservoir and switch on the pump. Water flows down both granite finishes before continuously returning below.

No permanent water supply required The Caldera is self-contained and continuously recirculates the same water, so no permanent plumbing connection is required. The pump is mains powered and supplied with a 10m cable. Simply top up the reservoir periodically to replace water lost through evaporation and splash.

When wet

Both surfaces deepen in tone. The smooth section develops a stronger sheen while the chiselled stone creates darker shadows, brighter highlights and more broken water movement.
