BOOK A CONSULTATIONA tall, self-contained Corten water table combining a 60cm architectural column with a shallow circular surface of moving water.
Measuring 60cm high and just 35cm in diameter, this Caldera creates strong vertical presence without requiring the footprint or excavation associated with a conventional buried-reservoir water feature.
Water bubbles gently from a central point in the top before spreading into a thin shimmering film across the circular surface. It then returns directly into the reservoir built into the column below.
Supplied pre-weathered, the Corten exterior brings warm orange, amber and rust tones to contemporary patios, gravel areas, courtyards and architectural planting schemes.
Unlike the buried-pool Caldera columns, this model contains its water reservoir within the feature itself, making it particularly useful where excavation is undesirable or impossible.
The self-contained reservoir sits within the 60cm column, allowing the complete feature to remain above ground.
Water bubbles centrally before spreading across the 35cm circular top as a thin, continuously moving film.
The narrow footprint makes it particularly effective on patios and in spaces where width is limited but height is desirable.
Water rises from a central point within the circular top, creating a gentle bubbling movement at the heart of the feature.
From there it spreads outwards across the top surface as a thin moving film, catching changing reflections from the sky, surrounding planting and integrated lighting.
The water then returns into the built-in reservoir below, ready to be pumped back to the top in a continuous cycle.
The 60cm height raises the water surface well above ground level, changing the way the feature is experienced compared with a low bowl or conventional water table.
At only 35cm across, the cylindrical body remains compact, giving the feature a clean vertical silhouette suitable for both domestic and commercial landscapes.
The feature is manufactured from genuine Corten weathering steel and supplied pre-weathered so its characteristic orange, amber and rust colouring is already visible.
Rather than behaving like a painted surface, Corten develops its appearance through oxidation, creating natural variation across the steel.
Water introduces another layer of contrast, temporarily darkening areas of the weathered surface and adding reflected movement across the top of the feature.
Some rust-coloured run-off can occur during the first few months while the weathering process continues. This may mark pale or porous paving. Positioning the feature on a non-porous surface or within gravel is recommended until the protective patina has stabilised.
The shallow film of water adds movement and reflection to the rust-toned Corten, with the appearance changing according to the light and surroundings.
Included LED lighting adds another dimension to the moving water, allowing the elevated circular surface to remain a focal point into the evening.
Because the reservoir is integrated into the column, this Caldera works especially well in locations where installing an underground pebble pool would be inconvenient.
Its relatively narrow footprint also makes it easier to position beside seating, within a courtyard or as part of an architectural planting scheme.
The water reservoir forms part of the Caldera itself, allowing the complete feature to be installed above ground on a suitable level surface.
Select the final location, allowing for the Corten weathering considerations and access to a suitable outdoor electrical supply.
The water system is contained within the feature, eliminating the need to excavate for a separate underground pool.
Water is pumped to the centre of the top surface before continuously returning to the integrated reservoir below.
The feature arrives with its characteristic rust-toned appearance already developed, rather than looking like fresh unfinished steel.
Exposure to weather allows the Corten patina to continue developing naturally, so exact orange, brown and amber tones will vary over time.
