Rosara Rainbow Sandstone Bird Bath Water Feature

A sculptural natural stone fountain combining a 45cm babbling bowl with a carved cascading twist to create a raised bird bath and moving-water focal point.

Standing approximately 52cm high overall, this Rosara lifts the shallow water bowl above the surrounding garden and introduces a more vertical silhouette than the low-level babbling bowls within the collection.

Water bubbles gently into the upper bowl before flowing over the edge and returning to the concealed reservoir below. The raised, shallow bowl can also provide an accessible water surface for visiting garden birds.

Rainbow sandstone brings warm natural layers of cream, gold, terracotta, pink and soft grey, with each individual piece displaying its own combination of bands, markings and tonal variation.

This design combines the simplicity of a shallow babbling bowl with a carved stone support, bringing the moving water higher into the garden and allowing the natural sandstone colour to become a major part of the feature.

The shallow upper bowl provides the familiar Rosara bubbling water effect while creating an elevated water surface that visiting birds can use.

Gentle bubbling water above warm, naturally layered sandstone.

Water rises gently through the centre of the upper bowl and spreads across the shallow sandstone surface.

Once it reaches the perimeter, the water spills naturally over the edge before returning to the concealed pebble pool below.

Raising the bowl makes the water easier to see and introduces more visible falling water than a ground-level Rosara, while retaining the range's calm, understated character.

A more vertical interpretation of the Rosara bowl.

The standard Rosara babbling bowl sits close to ground level. Here, the bowl is raised on a carved cascading twist to create a more sculptural feature approximately 52cm high.

The twisted column introduces movement even when the pump is switched off, while the broad 45cm upper bowl keeps the overall composition balanced.

Genuine rainbow sandstone

Natural layers of colour make every feature different.

Rainbow sandstone is characterised by naturally occurring bands and mineral tones that can include cream, ochre, soft yellow, terracotta, pink, brown and grey.

These colours are formed within the stone itself rather than applied as a surface finish, meaning the exact appearance of each bowl and twist is genuinely individual.

Water intensifies the sandstone tones, making natural banding and mineral patterns more prominent while the feature is running.

Natural variation is part of the design

Size, colouring, veining, banding and markings will vary between individual pieces. Product photography should therefore be viewed as representative of the stone rather than an exact colour match for every fountain.

Concealed in-ground installation

Hide the reservoir beneath the garden and keep the sandstone on show.

The supplied 70cm diameter heavy-duty pebble pool sits below the finished surface, allowing the cascading twist and bowl to become the visual focus of the installation.

Prepare

Select a firm, level position with access to a suitable outdoor electrical supply.

Excavate

Prepare a suitable opening for the supplied 70cm heavy-duty pebble pool.

Position

Install the reservoir securely and level beneath the finished garden surface.

Install the pump

Position the supplied pump inside the reservoir and connect the pipework through the stone to the bowl above.

Fit the grid

Position the heavy-duty support grid securely over the pebble pool.

Position the feature

Carefully locate the sandstone twist and bowl centrally over the supported area.

Finish

Cover the visible grid with decorative pebbles while retaining suitable access for pump maintenance.

Fill & enjoy

Fill the reservoir and switch on the pump. Water continuously circulates through the bowl and returns below.

No permanent water supply required The Rosara uses a fully self-contained recirculating water system. Simply top up the reservoir periodically to replace water naturally lost through evaporation and splash.

Water deepens the sandstone colours and increases contrast between the individual layers, creating a warmer and more saturated appearance.
