THE SETTING
A flagship park in the Lincolnshire countryside.
Lakeside Holiday Park in Louth is Don Amott's award-winning flagship site, combining static holiday homes and touring pitches with woodland surroundings, a tranquil lake and contemporary amenities.
The water feature sits immediately outside reception, giving the installation an important role in the first impression created for guests arriving at the park.
THE INSTALLATION
Three spheres. One unified focal point.
A 200cm Aterno Stainless Steel Sphere takes centre stage, flanked by two 100cm Aterno Stainless Steel Spheres.
Each sphere has its own isolated reservoir within the larger pond, creating the impression that the features sit on individual floating islands of pebbles. Fountain jets cross the pond to add further movement and visual interest.
The three spheres operate all year round outside reception, where their mirrored surfaces reflect the changing landscape and sky throughout the seasons.
DESIGN DETAILS
Scale that suits the setting.
The composition works because the central 2-metre sphere carries enough visual weight for the large reception landscape, while the pair of 1-metre spheres creates balance without competing with it.
