Solar Water Features

Enjoy moving water without running mains electricity across the garden. Solar water features use a separate solar panel to power a low-voltage pump, giving you more freedom over where the feature can be positioned.

Choose from compact decorative fountains through to premium Aqua Moda designs in polished steel, Corten and natural stone. Some systems operate directly from available sunlight, while many higher-spec models include rechargeable battery storage to help maintain operation when conditions become intermittent.

Solar powered garden water feature

WHY CHOOSE SOLAR?

More freedom over where your water feature goes.

Solar removes the need to run a mains electrical supply to the feature, making it particularly useful where power is inconvenient or where you want a simpler garden installation.

01   NO MAINS CONNECTION

Position Further Into the Garden

The pump is powered from a solar panel rather than an outdoor mains socket, so there is no need to route a 230V supply across the garden to the feature.

02   BATTERY-BACKED OPTIONS

Stored Power When Included

Many premium solar systems include a rechargeable battery that stores energy from the panel and can help maintain the water effect during intermittent sunlight or later in the day.

03   WIDE CHOICE OF STYLES

From Compact Fountains to Statement Stone

Solar is no longer limited to small resin fountains. The range now includes polished steel spheres, Corten bowls and substantial natural-stone designs alongside more compact decorative options.

BEFORE YOU CHOOSE SOLAR

The freedom is useful — but sunlight still matters.

Solar can be an excellent solution, but it does not behave exactly like a mains-powered pump. Understanding the differences helps you choose the right system for your garden.

PANEL POSITION

Give the Panel Direct Sunlight

For the best charging and pump performance, the solar panel should be positioned in an open location with good exposure to direct sunlight rather than deep shade.

WEATHER & SEASON

Performance Can Vary

Available power changes with sunlight, cloud cover and season. Battery-backed systems reduce this dependence, but stored charge is still finite and varies according to conditions.

SOLAR OR MAINS?

Choose Mains for Maximum Consistency

If your priority is the same water flow for long periods regardless of weather, a mains-powered feature remains the more consistent choice. Check each product page for its specific solar and battery system.
