Rosara Rainbow Sandstone 50cm Babbling Urn Water Feature

A hand-carved natural sandstone water feature with a deeper, rounded urn form that brings more height and sculptural presence than the low-profile Rosara babbling bowls.

Measuring approximately 50cm across and 25cm high, the Babbling Urn sits between a traditional bowl and a taller fountain. Its curved stone form gives it a substantial appearance while remaining easy to integrate into patios, gravel gardens and planted spaces.

Water rises gently through the centre before spreading across the upper surface and flowing over the rounded sandstone exterior into the concealed reservoir below.

Crafted from genuine rainbow sandstone, every urn has its own combination of warm mineral colour, natural banding and individual markings that become richer and more pronounced when wet.

The Babbling Urn water effect

Gentle bubbling above a rounded curtain of moving water.

Water rises through the centre of the urn and spreads across the upper sandstone surface.

As it reaches the edge, it begins to travel down the rounded exterior. The deeper 25cm profile gives the water more stone to flow across than on a low babbling bowl.

This creates a combination of gentle bubbling at the top and shimmering movement across the sides before the water disappears into the hidden reservoir below.

The Babbling Urn measures approximately 50cm in diameter but rises to around 25cm high, giving it almost twice the height of many of the low-profile Rosara sandstone bowls.

That extra depth changes both the visual character and the water effect. Rather than simply spreading across a shallow surface, the water travels over a rounded three-dimensional form.

Genuine rainbow sandstone

Natural layers of colour wrapped around a three-dimensional form.

Rainbow sandstone can contain a varied natural palette of cream, gold, ochre, orange, red, brown, pink, grey and occasional purple.

On the rounded urn shape, these bands and markings continue over the curved sides, giving every angle a slightly different appearance.

The colours are naturally formed within the sandstone rather than applied as a finish, and become significantly deeper once the surface is covered by flowing water.

Exact colour, banding, mineral markings, shape and subtle dimensions vary from one piece of stone to another. This variation is part of the character of a genuine natural sandstone feature.

The Babbling Urn works well where you want more height and visual mass than a traditional Rosara bowl without moving to a tall column-style feature.

Hide the reservoir and let the sandstone form take centre stage.

The supplied 70cm diameter heavy-duty pebble pool sits below the finished garden surface, allowing the Babbling Urn to appear as a freestanding piece of natural stone.

Choose the position

Select a firm, level position with access to a suitable outdoor electrical supply.

Excavate

Prepare a suitable opening for the supplied 70cm diameter heavy-duty pebble pool.

Level the reservoir

Install the pebble pool securely and ensure it sits level beneath the finished surface.

Install the pump

Position the supplied recirculating pump inside the reservoir and connect the water supply to the urn.

Prepare the support

Ensure the support area is secure and suitable for the solid natural stone feature.

Position the urn

Carefully centre the sandstone urn above the concealed reservoir.

Finish the surface

Cover the visible reservoir area with decorative pebbles while retaining suitable access for pump maintenance.

Fill & enjoy

Fill the reservoir and switch on the pump. Water flows over the urn before continuously returning below.

No permanent water supply required The Rosara Babbling Urn is self-contained and continuously recirculates the same water. Simply top up the reservoir periodically to replace water naturally lost through evaporation and splash.
